Un unbroken time line

Destiny analysis relies almost exclusively on time, unlike feng shui that mixes time and space in a very balanced way.

In the Chinese calendar, time pattern is defined according to a model that strongly resembles the DNA string that is the key of our physical condition.

To define the time cycle, Chinese use pairs of letters, each bearing specific information, like DNA acids. One set comprehends 2 letters, one is called a stem, the other a branch. There are 10 stems and 12 branches, the alphabet includes 60 possible pairs.

There are 4 intricated cycles:

the year cycle
the month cycle
the day cycle
the hour cycle

Those 4 cycles describe the state of the universe at a given time.

Our birth is charaterized by a picture of this state: we hence are depicted by 4 pairs of letters, one for the year,one for the month, one for the day and one for the hour. This summs up to 8 letters, this is the reason why it is called Ba Zi, which means 8 characters.

Together with this basic structure, a 5th cycle is considered that the Chinese call, in their very own way, the "luck pillar". It is used to indicate the way our structure determined by birth resonates with 10 year periods.
