This story could start like "once upon a time....". A year and a half ago a friend of us called up asking if we could help out some life-long friends of hers who had run into trouble with their shop.
The owners were brother and sister, selling clothes, the shop was in a pretty good vicinity. They had been hit by a serie of hard to come over events and about to give it all up. Bankrupcy was just looming over their heads. Upon our first visit it was clear to us that there were several feng shui issues to consider and no cash available to do any serious changes to the shop. The owners were very friendly and trusted us to do something that would keep them out of the water, this was a real challenge we had to meet with creativity and know how.
After a couple of weeks the situation improved somewhat and the bank agreed to a small loan. After six months, most charges could be paid and a couple of months later there was enough money in the cashier for them to continue for another year and pay for all fees. We regularly rearrange the shop to tap into all possible qis available. 18 months after we have started working for them, we take much pride in the fact that the shop still exists and the situation has considerably improved .
Picking up a location, moving out
That's it ! You have made your mind up: you will soon be opening your business or relocate it.You are thinking of renting or purchasing, even maybe of building up from scratch. Will this new place be auspicious to you ? Will it support your projects ? The owner of the shop tells you the place is terrific. Is that really so ? How can you make best use of this piece of land you are thinking of?

Philippe is an enthusiastic entrepreneur, hard to impress as you will see. He has been up the corporate ladder for over 20 years. He has decided to run his own business running shops that sell products for creative leasure.Here is what he says about the work we did together with him.
"Against your opinion, I opened the first shop in a place which I fancied. You had insisted that we would have difficulties and strongly suggested that I give up the idea and look for another one. I felt committed and thought that I could face it anyway as I am used to overcoming obstacles. And I like challenges. After opening the premises, tensions arose between me and my associate, he left after a couple of months daily struggles and by the end of the year I had lost more money than I could afford. It took us two years to reach a state of business that we should have achieved within months.
For the second shop, I knew better and asked for the feng shui diagnostic and your conclusions before signing the contracts. The person responsible for our shop s'implentation didn't like it but had to make do with it. You checked the place I had first selected, and suggested I also consider another location that was twice larger than needed and requested heavy investments. Actually things went out of control and we could not have the smaller place so after some hesitations we picked up the largest spot you had mentioned. And guess what? This shop picked up right from the beginning. I could really feel the difference between the first and the second shop. We'll open our third shop in 2006 and I really hope you will assist us in picking up the spot and designing the sales area".

Boost your sales department
However hard you try, sales don't really peak up. Service is fine, staff is highly skilled. Why not try a little extra? Some feng shui secret formulas are designed to enhance wealth and prosperity. This client is the owner of real estate agencies. He requested that we do a diagnostic for each agency and provide him with recommendations to improve sales. On one of the spots, one of the senior sales person who used to do really well was having difficuties, he had not sold any estate for months. After checking his office, we came to the conclusion that the situation was a bit tricky but we could try someting if he agreed to have the whole room that looked nice and cosy entirely re -arranged. He agreed and two weeks later had signed three sales contracts! He has his mind set not to change anything in his office even though it doesn't look quite as nice as it used to!
Give your customers a warm welcome
Many businesses are still confronted with unsatisfactory client reception conditions. Staff is trained and well qualified but it just does not work. Every so often, a customer will let you know his requests were not handled properly. In worst cases some will even decide to search for another place where they will get real good service. In other cases, you encounter endless difficulties with the people working at the reception: arguments, poor response to quality standards, ....
Very often the environment bears obvious signs of the situation but you cannot see them. Call up for expertise to check what is wrong and how to handle the case. Of course, an a priori audit will alert you on the zones which do not lend themselves to this type of activity. You will then be able to avoid or anticipate these difficulties.Remember: prevention is better than cure!
Planning renovations
If you are considering renovation work, make sure you consider time factors. When is it auspicious to launch your project? Building operations will run differently depending on the time of the year when you undertake them. The mere idea that this might affect the course of your project will probably surprise you. Yet many accidents, delays, extra costs will be observed when work is not undertaken in the right time.
Chinese have a very long experience in that field. This knowledge is available, why not use it?
